Country Kids Day Nursery is celebrating after its pre-school achieved the highest possible grade during a recent inspection with the Department of Education.  It is the first private day nursery to have been awarded “outstanding” in the North Down and Ards area.  This grading has further enhanced the All Ireland Centre of Excellence status that the nursery already holds.

The inspection report stated that “the quality of education provided by this pre-school setting is outstanding and the quality of pastoral care is also outstanding”.

At Country Kids the management and staff work together as a committed team and they share their skills to ensure the children reach their full potential and are ready to start primary education.  The inspectorate found “the staff are very caring and respectful to the children and to one another.  The positive relationships at all levels foster an inclusive and supportive family ethos throughout the setting.  The children are at ease with the staff and turn to them readily for comfort, help and support”

Country Kids pre-school operates from an amazing new building located beside the day nursery.  The building has a large self contained classroom, a sports hall, an outdoor role play area and extensive outdoor play areas.  These bright airy facilities are like no other in that the children have vast space both indoors and outdoors in which to learn and grow.  The inspection found “the activities and resources on offer to the children to be of a high quality.  The room is stimulating and all areas of play are attractively presented to the children.  Excellent use is made of books, posters and captions around the room to provide a literacy rich environment.  The children’s work is valued and presented around the playroom in an attractive manner”.

Country Kids has a fleet of vehicles that are regularly used for educational trips. We are one of the only nurseries where the children are out and about regularly to experience under the sea in the aquarium, Autumn time in killynether woods and many other local places of interest.
