Country Kids first Pre-school group comes to a close

Posted on: June 23rd, 2011

I knew that the letters that I had posted in May 2010 stating that 19 children had a pre-school place at Country Kids was marred by the disappointment that the children had not got their first or second choice of pre-school.   With a daughter in this year I knew how I would have felt in the same situation.  Nothing I could say would assure the parents that the children would have an excellent educational experience at Country Kids.  From the outset I knew that actions would speak louder than words and the managment and staff set out to ensure that these special 19 children had a very secure, loving and educational year to remember, making friends for life.  In my head in September 2010 I had the vision of a graduation day at the end  – a day of celebration.  A year seemed a long time away but how very quick it has come around.

What a fabulous day was had by all on Saturday 18th June 2011 at our pre-school graduation ceremony.  A day with tears of happiness at what the children have acheived but also sadness that the pre-school year has come to an end.  The children had been preparing for their special day for a few weeks but mums the word – they knew to keep it a secret.  It amazed me how the suspense was too much for the parents as they tried to find out the smallest detail from their child.  The children were tight lipped.  The secret was out the minute the children entered the room in their robes.  How gorgeous they looked and how their confidence had grown from September to now.

We were delighted that Ena Shaw from Early Years Organisation was able to join us to present the children with their graduation certificates.

The children then performed a collection of action songs for their audience guided by their wonderful leader Lauren Irvine.

A lovely refreshment and cupcakes followed from Bailie T’s, just added to the occasion.  The day ended with a lively session from Amanda of Jump, Jiggle and Jive.  Amanda even had the parents dancing with props, a favourite being the coyboy hats!!

At Country Kids we would just like to say a very big thank you to all the pre-school parents in the class of 2011 for their support throughout the year and we know that the children have had a good pre-school year and will settle very well into life at their primary school.   We hope it is not a good bye and we will see most of them in our after school club in September 2011.

Photographs from the day can be purchased online through Carly Rodger’s website.  You will be able to get the password from Elaine to view them.   Click here to take you to www.carlyrodgers.com.
