Anything boys can do, girls can do better!!

Well what a day.   We were all dreading it.  85 miles and to be back in Belfast for 4.30pm.  We had another early start at 7am.  The only good thing about today was the weather.  The sun was shining.  On Sunday night I was in the lowest place.  My knee had given me a bit of trouble that day and was so sore that I thought I would not be able to cycle the last day.  This morning I joined the queue for Niall, one of the cyclists who is a physio.  He strapped my knee for me to stop the knee cap moving.  This was my life saver.  Jess and I were exhausted this morning and the finish line seemed so far away.

We packed our bags, loaded them into the van one last time and then set off.  The first leg went really well.  We were homeward bound.  Everyone was very matter of fact – lets just get the job done.  It is so easy cycling when the weather is good and everywhere looks lovely.  We made excellent ground today and everything went to plan.  We had a gathering up at Lady Dixon Park where the team gathered in a circle to remember why the cycle had taken place.  Rachel Beukes then led the group down the Malone Road and into Botanic Gardens.  It was a fabulous

entrance for us all and quite an emotional welcome home from friends and families.  Our adventure of the last 4 days was over now.  We would have to say goodbye to Justin and Paul, the cyclists who had looked after us so well and also to Brian and the support crew.

I know you will ask us would we do it again?   I think you know the answer !!!!!

A very big thank you to everyone who has donated and helped us to raise money for Marie Currie.  Also for all the messages of support.  It has been great and got us through the toughest challenge of our lives.
