Good Practice

Nappy changing
Parents are asked to bring a packet of nappies to the nursery for their child.  If they want any specific nappy cream to be used they must provide a jar clearly labelled with their child name.

Toilet training
All children should have a spare change of clothes that stay at the nursery in case of an accident.  If your child has an accident and there is no change of clothes staff will ring the emergency contact numbers requesting a change of clothes.

Keyworker system
We operate a keyworker system; it is designed so that the child has a designated person assigned to them.  This person will help them settle in, fill in their developmental records and plan their daily activities based through a chosen theme.

Observations
Staff will make regular observations of each child.  This is recorded in a central observational file and can be viewed by parents.  Observations are recorded by all staff for all children not just the key worker.  The information is transferred to the record of achievement for each child.

Equal opportunities policy
Country Kids Day Nursery believes that no child, individual or family should be excluded from its activities on the grounds of age, gender, sexuality, class, family status, disability, ethnic origin, colour, culture, religion or belief.
