Our Approach

Country kids farm walk

Heading out on the farm

From the first seed of an idea, Country Kids would only be established if it was going to be the best day nursery in the area.  Seaview Farm had provided Ian with such a privileged childhood, playing outdoors in idyllic surroundings and he wanted to share this experience with the new generation.  From the outset it was important that we nurtured the children’s interest in the farm. We did not envisage how facinated the children would be, but they love to see ‘Farmer Ian’ in his tractor and will ask him daily “what are you doing Farmer Ian?”.    Farmer Ian has gripped the children’s imaginations and everyone in a red tractor has become him, even on holidays in Spain!

The motivation to let other children experience life growing up on a farm carries through to the nursery with outdoor play  and walks around the farm a key daily activity.  It provides children with the opportunity to develop their green fingers, weeding and growing plants and flowers and learning about the farm animals grazing in the fields bordering the nursery.  It is this unique kind of excitement at Country Kids which helps introduce the children to the wonder of the world around them.    This involvement along with the friendly and loving atmosphere has helped create a secure Country Kids family environment where children can relax and feel at home, enabling them to learn and reach their full potential.

At Country Kids there is a hive of daily activity ranging from creative expression through paint, paper and mixed media to baking sessions.  Water and sand play along with dressing up and construction are also daily activities that encourage imaginative development, enabling the children to express themselves freely and learn through play.
